Hot Wheels – Custom '64 Galaxie
Scale model of an automobile in the custom style, the Custom '64 Galaxie, made by Hot Wheels. This example is reference 18, included in the 2007 New Models series. It is made in Malaysia. Metal body painted in dark red, with subtle black stripes on the sides. Plastic base with chrome finish. Glazing represented in tinted transparent plastic. Interior details in gray plastic. Plastic wheels, rims with chrome finish (5SP). No suspension. The overall length is approximately 3.1 in. About 1.2 oz. This model represents an automobile in the custom style, possibly based on the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500/XL hardtop coupe. It is made by Hot Wheels in several versions.
I don’t think that Ford designers in the sixties ever wanted this car to look mean and aggressive – but, eventually and in certain degrees of customization, that's how it looks. And when I hold this Custom '64 Galaxie in the palm of my hand, I like to think there’s a miniature, fully functional, FE 427 engine sleeping under the hood. Better not to wake up the beast. This car, the Custom '64 Galaxie, is in my collection under the themes American Vehicles and Muscle Cars & Hot Rods. ●

Não creio que os designers da Ford nos anos 60 quisessem que este carro parecesse malvado e agressivo – mas, eventualmente e em certos graus de personalização, é o que parece. E quando seguro este Custom '64 Galaxie na palma da minha mão, gosto de pensar que há um motor FE 427 em miniatura, totalmente funcional, a dormir sob o capot. É melhor não acordar a besta. Este automóvel, o Custom '64 Galaxie, encontra-se na minha colecção sob os temas Veículos Americanos e Muscle Cars & Hot Rods. ●
