M2 Machines – 1970 Dodge Super Bee 383
In 1970, and judging by the sales figures, the Dodge Super Bee's style update is not a success. But, at that moment and for a number of reasons, the writing is already on the wall for the muscle cars era, with manufacturers and customers turning to more sensible and safer things. For me, however, the 1970 Dodge Super Bee remains a reference. Impressive in Plum Crazy Purple, the unusual and menacing front, the deep, guttural voice and more than 300 hp burning rubber on the asphalt, trails of white smoke into the night. The 1970 Dodge Super Bee is one of my favorite muscle cars – period. And now, I even got some examples in my garage. In a safe and sensible manner – pocket size.
This miniature made by M2 Machines, based in Azusa, California, is quite appealing, with harmonious proportions, the right posture, incredible rally wheels, reasonable printed details and a very detailed interior – and even the moving parts come well aligned. But this example is betrayed by quality control. This is one of those occasions when more is not better. Excess paint is particularly noticeable on the edges of the doors and on the front. Clearly, a Monday morning job. This automobile, the 1970 Dodge Super Bee 383, is in my collection under the themes American Vehicles and Muscle Cars & Hot Rods. ●

Impressionante em Plum Crazy Purple, a frente invulgar e ameaçadora, a voz profunda e gutural e mais de 300 cv a queimar borracha no asfalto, rastos de fumo branco pela noite dentro. O Dodge Super Bee de 1970 é um dos meus muscle cars favoritos – ponto final. E agora, até tenho alguns exemplares na minha garagem. De forma sensata e segura – tamanho de bolso.
