Norev – Renault Mégane Trophy

Scale model of a race car, the Renault Mégane Trophy, made by Norev. This example is reference 423396 ¹, included in the "Renault Toys – Mégane Trophy" series. It is made in China, possibly in 2007. Metal body painted in yellow, with printed details. Unpainted metal base. Glazing represented in transparent plastic, with molded details. Interior details in gray plastic. Plastic wheels, "chrome" rims. With suspension. The nominal scale seems to be 1:55 and the overall length is approximately 3.1 in. About 1.9 oz. This model represents a race car, the Renault Sport Mégane Trophy, unveiled at the 2004 "Paris Motor Show" and used in the "Renault Eurocup Mégane Trophy" one-make series between 2005 and 2008. It was fitted with the 3498 cm³ Nissan-Renault VQ35DE V6 engine, with 243 kW (330 hp) and could exceed 155mph.

In 2008, I remember well the day when Formula 1 came to downtown Lisboa, the Avenida da Liberdade cut off from traffic, the passage of race cars and the choreography of Renault Mégane and Laguna models. From that day, the memory, some photographs and the miniature of the Renault Mégane Trophy remain. The model is of good quality – correct proportions, good paintwork and printed details, true-to-prototype wheels and one of the best racing interiors I've seen at this scale. It comes with suspension, but it is stiff and we hardly notice it. Unlike the prototype, which is necessarily light for performance reasons, the miniature is heavy and robust, with mirrors and rear wing built into the casting, able to withstand enthusiastic make-believe races. This race car, the Renault Mégane Trophy, is in my collection under the themes "French Vehicles" and "Race Cars". ●

Modelo à escala de um carro de corrida, o Renault Mégane Trophy, feito pela Norev. Este exemplar é a referência 423396 ¹, incluída na série "Renault Toys – Mégane Trophy". É feito na China, possivelmente em 2007. Carroçaria em metal pintada em amarelo, com detalhes impressos. Base em metal, sem pintura. Vidros representados em plástico transparente, com detalhes moldados. Detalhes interiores em plástico cinzento. Rodas em plástico, jantes "cromadas". Com suspensão. A escala nominal parece ser 1:55 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 79 mm. Cerca de 55 g. Este modelo representa um carro de corrida, o Renault Mégane Trophy, utilizado na série monomarca "Renault Eurocup Mégane Trophy" entre 2005 e 2008. Estava equipado com o motor Nissan-Renault VQ35DE V6 de 3498 cm³, com 243 kW (330 hp) e podia ultrapassar os 249 km/h.

Em 2008, lembro-me bem do dia em que a Fórmula 1 veio à baixa de Lisboa, da Avenida da Liberdade cortada ao trânsito, das passagens dos carros de corrida e das coreografias dos modelos Renault Mégane e Laguna. Desse dia, ficou a memória, algumas fotografias e a miniatura do Renault Mégane Trophy. O modelo é de boa qualidade – proporções correctas, boa pintura e detalhes impressos, rodas fiéis ao protótipo e um dos melhores interiores de competição que já vi a esta escala. Vem com suspensão, mas é dura e quase não damos por ela. Ao contrário do protótipo, necessariamente leve por questões de desempenho, a miniatura é pesada e robusta, com retrovisores e asa traseira incorporados no molde, capaz de resistir a entusiásticas corridas de faz de conta. Este carro de corrida, o Renault Mégane Trophy, encontra-se na minha colecção sob os temas "Veículos Franceses" e "Carros de Corrida". ●
