Collectors of toys and models are sometimes considered very strange dudes which tend to live in a childish world of their own, with all sorts of unresolved psychological issues. Well, we actually live in everybody’s world – and we are usually very competent at it. And we better be, as some of the items we wish for are often quite expensive. But we do have a peculiar perspective of things, a sort of magical realism perspective, to mention a literature concept. As an example, while most people look at this little model and see a little model – which, in fact, it is –, for me, for a brief moment it goes beyond that and takes me into a magical world of personal memories and influences and sensations, something which may start as this image below. Interesting, isn’t it? ●

Os coleccionadores de brinquedos e modelos são por vezes considerados tipos muito estranhos, que tendem a viver num mundo infantil próprio, com todos os tipos de problemas psicológicos não resolvidos. Bem, na verdade vivemos no mundo de todos nós – e geralmente somos muito competentes nisso. E é melhor sermos, pois alguns dos itens que desejamos são por vezes bastante caros. Mas temos, de facto, uma perspectiva peculiar das coisas, uma espécie de perspectiva de realismo mágico, para mencionar um conceito de literatura.
