This model represents a " sports prototype " race car, presumably based on the 1984 Porsche 962 .  The problem with miniature race cars is that, even in the world of make-believe, like their big relatives, they serve just one purpose – to race. And in that context, any ambitious kid soon discovers that the most competitive cars are usually the heavier, equipped with suspension and with little friction in the axles.
