After publishing the text " Brief Introduction to Poliguri " in 2012, several collectors started asking me why I had left out "the rare and expensive models". In fact, I mentioned them in the last paragraph, as "intruders", and later, in 2014, I explained my point of view in the text " Those rare Poliguris ". I always assumed that my answer was implicit – I left them out because I didn't consider them part of the production of the Portuguese manufacturer. Putting a Playwell model in a Poliguri package doesn't make it a Poliguri – it's still a Playwell. Even so, ten years later the questions remain. Were these models produced at the Poliguri factory? I don't know. Are they from the eighties? Possibly. Are they really rare? While Playwell models packed in Poliguri boxes, yes. And are they worth the high prices? Scale model of a police car, the Mazda GT Police Car ¹ , made by Zylmex. This example is reference P306 ² , included in the " Dynamights " series. It is made in Hong Kong in the 1970s. Metal body painted in black, with white doors and roof. Paper labels on the doors showing a five-pointed star, and on the boot reading " POLICE ". Metal base, unpainted. Glazing represented in yellow transparent plastic. Red roof light. Interior details in yellow plastic, left-hand drive. Plastic wheels, rims with "chrome" finish. With suspension. Opening doors. The overall length is approximately 2.8 in. About 1.2 oz. This model represents a police car based on the 1970 Mazda Capella coupe. It is made by Zylmex in several versions. In the late 1970s, I find the Zylmex miniatures attractive, in spite of some annoying imperfections – this example is in mint condition, straight out of the box... Scale model of a race car, the Bugatti "Brescia" , made by Brumm . This example is reference r39, included in the "Serie Oro". It is made in Italy. This is an early 1980s example. Metal body painted in light greenish blue. Racing number "7" printed on the radiator grille and applied as a decal to the sides of the hood. Metal base replicating the chassis, also painted light greenish blue. On the chassis, partial reproduction, in gray plastic, of the engine and gearbox. Spare tire mounted at the rear, attached to the fuel tank. Details of the cockpit in black plastic, including the steering wheel and the seats and floor. Dashboard molded in metal. Tires in yellowish white plastic, detailed with thread and shoulder blocks, black plastic spoked rims. No suspension.
