It is made in China, I don't know its production period. Metal body painted in blue ("Bleu émeraude"?), with printed details. Black plastic base. Glazing represented in transparent plastic with details molded in the windshield. Interior details in cream and beige plastics. Detailed plastic rims with "chrome" finish, plastic tires with molded details. No suspension. The nominal scale is 1:54 and the overall length is approximately 2.9 in. About 1.3 oz. This model represents an automobile, the 1956 Renault Dauphine, equipped with the rear-mounted 845 cm³, 32 hp (23.5 kW) Renault Ventoux "L4" engine. Top speed around 71 mph.
I've always liked the Renault Dauphine, its rounded lines, its peculiarly friendly and even elegant appearance—its smiling face. The miniature offered by Norev is a good tribute. The casting is excellent and captures well the chubby proportions of the original. The reproduction of the small running board under the rear doors is remarkable. The paint job is of good quality. The application of the "Dauphine" signature is excellent, but the painted accents of other elements reveal some flaws. Especially at this small scale, the treatment given to the interior is very good—I love the meticulously molded dashboard and steering wheel. The wheels are well detailed and, to the delight of children, unlike what usually happens with Norev models, this time they roll well. The Renault Dauphine, manufactured in four countries and with over two million units sold over a decade, is sometimes cited as one of the worst cars of all time. I disagree and can objectively refute all the accusations—furthermore, I drove one and, despite its age, it never disappointed me or gave me any problems. As for the miniature Dauphines, I have several in my garage—they don't rust, they don't break down, and they always start on the first push. Always with a smile. ●

Sempre gostei do Renault Dauphine, das suas linhas arredondadas, do seu aspecto peculiarmente simpático e até elegante—do seu rosto sorridente. A miniatura proposta pela Norev é um bom tributo. O molde é excelente e capta bem as proporções gordinhas do original. A reprodução do pequeno estribo sob as portas traseiras é notável. A pintura é de boa qualidade. A aplicação da assinatura "Dauphine" é excelente, mas o realce dado por pintura a outros elementos revela algumas imprecisões. Sobretudo a esta pequena escala, o tratamento dado ao interior é muito bom—adoro o painel e o volante meticulosamente moldados. As rodas são bem detalhadas e, para alegria dos miúdos, ao contrário do que habitualmente sucede com a Norev, desta vez rodam bem. O Renault Dauphine, fabricado em quatro países e com mais de dois milhões de unidades vendidas ao longo de uma década, é por vezes apontado como um dos piores carros de sempre. Não concordo e consigo rebater objectivamente todas as acusações—para mais, conduzi um e, apesar da sua idade, nunca me desapontou ou deu problemas. Quanto aos Dauphine em miniatura, tenho vários na minha garagem—não enferrujam, nem avariam e arrancam sempre ao primeiro impulso. Sempre com um sorriso. ●
