Poliguri – Fiat Uno
Scale model of an automobile, the Fiat Uno, made by Poliguri. This example is reference (n/a), included in the "Guri Car" series. It is made in Portugal, possibly between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s. Metal body painted in black. Metal base painted in black. Glazing represented in transparent plastic, with details such as the windshield wipers and the rear-view mirror molded in the windshield. Interior details in white plastic. Plastic wheels (R5) with "chromed" rim details. With suspension. Opening doors. The nominal scale is 1:50 and the overall length is approximately 3 in. About 1.9 oz. This model represents an automobile, possibly based on the 1983 Fiat Uno 3-door hatchback which, for example, in the 55 S version could be equipped with the 1116 cm³ , 40 kW (55 hp) Fiat 138.B engine, reaching a top speed of around 93 mph.
Successor to the popular Fiat 127, the first generation Fiat Uno, produced between 1983 and 1989, is itself an icon of the eighties – and an excellent choice for the "Guri Car" series made by Poliguri. Apart from the wheels, which seem small to me, the model is well proportioned and detailed, featuring transparent plastic headlights, as well as the doors fully reproducing the window frame. The paint, glossy or satiny depending on the colors, is usually well applied and the interior details are reasonably accurate. With 53 g and a good suspension, this is undoubtedly the Poliguri with better rolling characteristics for the kids of the time. The doors withstand, within certain limits, intensive use, but after a few years they stop closing properly, due to the deformation of the sills close to the front fenders. However, in some examples this deformation is almost imperceptible. For all intents and purposes, in the "3-inches" world this is a remarkable model of the Fiat Uno – and contemporary with the vehicle that inspired it. Surely, no "fiatista" can sleep peacefully without having at least one in his garage. This automobile, the Fiat Uno, is in my collection under the theme "Italian Vehicles". ●

Vidros representados em plástico transparente com detalhes como os limpa pára-brisas e o espelho retrovisor moldados no pára-brisas. Detalhes interiores em plástico branco. Rodas em plástico (R5) com detalhes "cromados". Com suspensão. Abre as portas. A escala nominal é 1:50 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 76 mm. Cerca de 53 g. Este modelo representa um automóvel, possivelmente baseado no Fiat Uno "hatchback" de 3 portas de 1983 que, por exemplo, na versão 55 S podia vir equipado com o motor Fiat 138.B de 1116 cm³ e 40 kW (55 hp), atingindo uma velocidade máxima de cerca de 150 km/h.
Sucessor do popular Fiat 127, o Fiat Uno da primeira geração, produzido entre 1983 e 1989, é por sua vez um ícone dos anos oitenta – e uma excelente escolha para a série "Guri Car" feita pela Poliguri. À parte as rodas, que me parecem pequenas, o modelo é bem proporcionado e detalhado, exibindo faróis em plástico transparente, assim como as portas reproduzindo integralmente a moldura das janelas. A pintura, brilhante ou acetinada consoante as cores, é geralmente bem aplicada e os detalhes interiores são razoavelmente precisos. Com 53 g e uma boa suspensão, este é sem dúvida para os miúdos da época o Poliguri com melhores características de rolamento. As portas resistem, dentro de certos limites, ao uso intensivo, mas ao fim de alguns anos deixam de fechar correctamente, pela deformação das embaladeiras junto aos pára-lamas dianteiros. Todavia, em alguns exemplares esta deformação é quase imperceptível. Para todos os efeitos, no mundo dos "3-inches" este é um notável modelo do Fiat Uno – e contemporâneo do veículo que o inspirou. Decerto, nenhum "fiatista" consegue dormir em paz sem ter pelo menos um na sua garagem. Este automóvel, o Fiat Uno, encontra-se na minha colecção sob o tema "Veículos Italianos". ●

How much?
Several readers have asked me to include the market value of the items described. In fact, and as most collectors will agree – an item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. However, most collectors will also agree on average values, based on objective notions of relevance, scarcity and conservation. Therefore, and as I know that these requests for market values will not stop, I will occasionally include, not necessarily the market value, but rather, based on my perception of the markets over the last thirty years, the value that, hypothetically and at the time of publication, I am willing to pay for the item described. In this case, I will pay up to €7 for a Fiat Uno by Poliguri, loose and in good condition, or up to €12 if boxed and in perfect condition. ●
