Yatming – Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham


Scale model of an automobile, the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, made by Yatming ¹. This example is reference 1053, included in the Fastwheel series. It is made in Hong Kong, possibly in the 1970s. Metal body painted in dark red. Metal base, unpainted. Glazing represented in transparent plastic. Interior details in dark red plastic. Plastic wheels, rims with chrome finish. With suspension. Opening doors. The nominal scale is 1:77 and the overall length is approximately 3.1 in. About 1.7 oz. This model represents an automobile, the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham sedan, possibly based on the 1975 Cadillac 60 Special Fleetwood Brougham.

When, in the late seventies, I come across a 1955 Cadillac 60 Special, I am impressed by its sheer length – 227.3 in. Later, I find out on the pages of the L'Automobile's worldwide catalog that the 1975 Cadillac 60 Special Brougham is even bigger, measuring 233.7 in. But, as I later realize, this is the end of an era. When, after a hiatus in its production, the Cadillac 60 Special returns in 1987, it is a smaller and less impressive front-wheel-drive automobile. This miniature seems to be a copy of a Tomica model, the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, reference F2, released in 1976. Although less refined than the original, it is still quite an appealing model. Unfortunately, mine came with a damaged rear window, and the steering wheel was probably left in Hong Kong. This automobile, the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, is in my collection under the theme American Vehicles. ●

Quando, no final dos anos setenta, me deparo com um Cadillac 60 Special de 1955, fico impressionado com seu comprimento total – 5,773 m. Mais tarde, descubro nas páginas do catálogo mundial da L'Automobile que o Cadillac 60 Special Brougham de 1975 é ainda maior, medindo 5,936 m. Mas, como mais tarde compreendo, este é o fim de uma era. Quando, após um hiato na sua produção, o Cadillac 60 Special regressa em 1987, é um automóvel de tracção dianteira, mais pequeno e menos impressionante. Miniatures of human and alien figures constituting the series " Colecção Espacial ". This series of 16 miniatures appears in 1970 associated with the Rajá ice cream brand, which offers a figurine on each ice cream purchased. Monochrome plastic, various colors. Changes In December 2022, both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", definitely reached the end of their path, with, respectively, more than 191,000 and 23,000 views. Both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", were born at a time when I thought it was possible to maintain a meeting point for each of my research topics – " IT'S ONLY BUSES ", " IT'S ONLY TRAINS ", " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", to mention just a few. Obstacles In editorial terms, 2023 was a year without surprises for the " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS " websites. But it is increasingly clear that one life is not enough to share my entire photographic collection.
