Yatming – Plymouth


Scale model of an automobile, the Plymouth, made by Yatming. This example is reference 1057, included in the "Fastwheel" series. It is made in Hong Kong, possibly in the 1980s. Metal body painted in dark blue. Metal base, unpainted. Glazing represented in transparent plastic. Interior details in white plastic. Plastic wheels with "chrome" details simulating the rims. With suspension. Opening doors. The nominal scale seems to be around 1:66 and the overall length is approximately 3 in (76 mm). About 1.6 oz (44 g). This model, the Plymouth, is possibly based on the 1975 Plymouth Duster 360 coupe, equipped with the 5.9 L (5898 cm³), 172 kW (233 hp) LA 360 V8  engine. Top speed would exceed 120 mph (193 km/h). 

In 1975, the Plymouth Duster 360 is a "muscle car" at the end of the delirious "muscle car" era, penalized by insurance companies and inconvenient in the midst of the 1973–1974 oil crisis. Derived from the sober and compact Valiant, the Plymouth Duster is still a competent "muscle car", even in its dying version, the 360, from 1975. But it will never arouse burning passions, like its brothers Barracuda, Roadrunner or the extravagant Superbird, eventually known as the "winged warrior". Perhaps that is why, for years, it remains a rarity in the context of "3-inch" miniatures. Unlike many of the models made by Yatming, this Plymouth Duster is heavy, opens doors and, despite evident imperfections, the casting acceptably reproduces the prototype. The interior is also reasonably detailed. Sadly, many years ago, mine came out of the box without the steering wheel.

Cerca de 44 g. Este modelo, o Plymouth, é possivelmente baseado no Plymouth Duster 360 coupe de 1975, equipado com o motor LA 360 V8, com 5898 cm³ e 172 kW (233 hp). A velocidade máxima ultrapassaria os 193 km/h.

Em 1975, o Plymouth Duster 360 é um "muscle car" no fim da delirante era dos "muscle cars", penalizado pelas seguradoras e inconveniente no meio da crise petrolífera de 1973–1974. Derivado do sóbrio e compacto Valiant, o Plymouth Duster é ainda assim um "muscle car" competente, mesmo na sua versão moribunda, o 360, de 1975. Mas nunca despertará paixões ardentes, como os seus irmãos Barracuda, Roadrunner ou o extravagante Superbird, eventualmente cognominado de "guerreiro alado". Talvez por isso, durante anos permaneça uma raridade no contexto das miniaturas "3-inch". Ao contrário de muitos dos modelos feitos pela Yatming, este Plymouth Duster é pesado, abre as portas e, apesar de evidentes imperfeições, o molde reproduz aceitavelmente o protótipo. O interior é também razoavelmente detalhado. Tristemente, há muitos anos atrás, o meu saiu da caixa já sem o volante.

Miniatures of human and alien figures constituting the series " Colecção Espacial ". This series of 16 miniatures appears in 1970 associated with the Rajá ice cream brand, which offers a figurine on each ice cream purchased. Monochrome plastic, various colors. Obstacles In editorial terms, 2023 was a year without surprises for the " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS " websites. But it is increasingly clear that one life is not enough to share my entire photographic collection.
