Poliguri – Mercedes 307 Tank Truck


Scale model of a tank truck, the Mercedes 307, made by Poliguri. This example is reference 702, included in the "Guri Car" series. It is made in Portugal, possibly between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s. Metal cab painted in yellow, plastic tank in red with "GASOLINA" printed on the sides and fixed on a white plastic base. Metal base painted in black. Glazing represented in transparent plastic, with details such as the windshield wipers and the rear-view mirror molded on the windshield. Interior details in white plastic. Plastic wheels (R16) with printed details in white suggesting the rims, white line printed on the tire wall cut twice by the word "Guri". No suspension. The nominal scale is 1:65 and the overall length is approximately 3 in. About 1.4 oz. This model represents a tank truck, possibly based on the 1982 Mercedes-Benz 307 D, with a gross weight of 7,055 lb and equipped with the 53 kW (72 hp) Mercedes-Benz OM 616 engine. It is made by Poliguri in several color variants. 

This Mercedes 307, made by Poliguri, based in Cacém, near Lisboa, is in its time a quite acceptable model. Instead of the usual base, it comes with a fairly detailed chassis, missing, however, the fuel tank. The exhaust tips are shorter in some examples. This model ages well, but the tank is particularly sensitive to sun exposure and can take on a yellowish tint. Based on its dimensions, this pretty small vehicle for gasoline distribution has a capacity of around 793 US gallons. The tank resembles that used by the Camion Citerne (Saviem), reference 245 by Majorette, at a scale of 1:100. This tank truck, the Mercedes 307, is in my collection under the themes "German Vehicles" and "Vans & Pickup Trucks". ●

Modelo à escala de uma camioneta-cisterna, a Mercedes 307, feito pela Poliguri. Este exemplar é a referência 702, incluída na série "Guri Car". É feito em Portugal, possivelmente entre o final dos anos oitenta e meados dos anos noventa. Cabina em metal pintada em amarelo, cisterna em plástico vermelho com "GASOLINA" impresso nas laterais e fixada sobre uma base em plástico branco. Base em metal pintada em preto. Vidros representados em plástico transparente com detalhes como os limpa pára-brisas e o espelho retrovisor moldados no pára-brisas. Detalhes interiores em plástico branco. Rodas em plástico (R16) com detalhes impressos em branco a sugerir as jantes, linha branca impressa na parede do pneu cortada duas vezes pela palavra "Guri". Sem suspensão. A escala nominal é 1:65 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 76 mm. Cerca de 39 g. Este modelo representa uma camioneta-cisterna, possivelmente baseada na Mercedes-Benz 307 D de 1982, com um peso bruto de 3,200 kg e equipada com o motor Mercedes-Benz OM 616 de 53 kW (72 hp). É feito pela Poliguri em diversas variantes de cor.

Este Mercedes 307, feito pela Poliguri, baseada no Cacém, perto de Lisboa, é no seu tempo um modelo bastante aceitável. Em vez da base usual, vem com um chassis razoavelmente detalhado, faltando-lhe, no entanto, o depósito de combustível. As pontas do escape são mais curtas em alguns exemplares. Este modelo envelhece bem, mas a cisterna é particularmente sensível à exposição solar e pode ganhar uma tonalidade amarelada. Versions and color variants

Color variants that I know are red, orangey yellow, yellow, green and blue. Tanks are red, green and gray, some with printed details on the sides, including the lovely but unlikely inscription on a tank truck, "with ♥ from Portugal". Base of the tank in white or black. I have seen reference 702 with white, black or red interiors. Always fitted with R16 wheels. Necessary corrections or additions to the above are welcome. ●

As cisternas são em vermelho, verde ou cinzento, algumas com detalhes impressos nas laterais, incluindo a encantadora mas improvável inscrição numa camioneta-cisterna, "with ♥ from Portugal". Base da cisterna em branco ou preto. Tenho visto a referência 702 com interiores brancos, pretos ou vermelhos. Sempre equipada com rodas R16. The 1:65th scale model made by Poliguri in the 1980s and its inspiration, the Mercedes-Benz 307 D. Here we see a longer version, possibly the one with a 12.1 ft wheelbase. Despite the obvious liberties taken with proportions and details, I think the "character" of the TN is there. And, like the prototype, the miniature is robustly built – and made to last. O modelo à escala 1:65 feito pela Poliguri nos anos oitenta e a sua inspiração, o Mercedes-Benz 307 D. Aqui vemos uma versão mais longa, possivelmente aquela com uma distância entre eixos de 3,70 m. Apesar das óbvias liberdades tomadas com proporções e detalhes, penso que o "carácter" da TN está lá. E, como o protótipo, a miniatura é construída de maneira robusta – e feita para durar. This series of 16 miniatures appears in 1970 associated with the Rajá ice cream brand, which offers a figurine on each ice cream purchased. Monochrome plastic, various colors. Obstacles In editorial terms, 2023 was a year without surprises for the " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS " websites.
