Hot Wheels – Phaeton


Scale model of an automobile in the "hot rod" style, the Phaeton, made by Hot Wheels. This example is reference 14, included in the "1999 First Editions" series. It is made in Malaysia. Metal body painted in metallic bluish-green (teal), cream plastic top simulating canvas. Metal base, unpainted. Windshield represented in transparent plastic. Interior details in cream plastic. Plastic wheels with "chrome" details simulating the rims (5SP). No suspension. Removable top. The nominal scale is 1:64 and the overall length is approximately 2.8 in (72 mm). About 1.4 oz (41 g). This model, the Phaeton, represents a "hot rod", originally created in miniature form by Hot Wheels.

The "Hot Rod" family tree includes several branches, such as "Traditional Hot Rods", "Street Rods" or "Rat Rods", subsequently branched into "Coupes", "Sedans", "Roadsters" or "Phaetons", and then, for example, in "Deuces", "High-boys", "Low-boys" or "T-buckets". This model originally created by Hot wheels is possibly a "High-tech Hot Rod", built with modern styling and technology. If it really existed on a 1: 1 scale, we would probably find the Chevrolet Corvette C5 engine under the hood, delivering an awesome amount of power to high-performance tires. This automobile, the Phaeton, is in my collection under the themes "American Vehicles" and "Muscle Cars & Hot Rods". ●

Miniatures of human and alien figures constituting the series " Colecção Espacial ". This series of 16 miniatures appears in 1970 associated with the Rajá ice cream brand, which offers a figurine on each ice cream purchased. Monochrome plastic, various colors. Changes In December 2022, both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", definitely reached the end of their path, with, respectively, more than 191,000 and 23,000 views. However, some of the contents published between 2009 and 2016 have been included, updated and with images in a larger standard format, in its successors, " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS ". Both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", were born at a time when I thought it was possible to maintain a meeting point for each of my research topics – " IT'S ONLY BUSES ", " IT'S ONLY TRAINS ", " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", to mention just a few. Obstacles In editorial terms, 2023 was a year without surprises for the " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS " websites.
