Yatming – Chevrolet


Scale model of an automobile, the Chevrolet, made by Yatming. This example is reference 1003, included in the "Fastwheel" series. It is made in Hong Kong, possibly in the 1980s. Metal body painted in red. Black plastic base. Glazing represented in transparent plastic. Interior details in white plastic. Plastic wheels with "chrome" details simulating the rims. With suspension. The nominal scale seems to be around 1:65 and the overall length is approximately 2.7 in (69 mm). About 0.8 oz (23 g). This model, the Chevrolet, represents the Chevrolet Astro I "concept car" designed by Roy Lonberger and unveiled by General Motors at the 1967 "New York International Auto Show". It was cosmetically equipped with the same air-cooled, horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine used by the second-generation Chevrolet Corvair.

This automobile, the Chevrolet, is in my collection under the themes "American Vehicles" and "Concept Cars". ●

Modelo à escala de um automóvel, o Chevrolet, feito pela Yatming. Este exemplar é a referência 1003, incluída na série "Fastwheel". É feito em Hong Kong, possivelmente nos anos oitenta. Carroçaria em metal pintada em vermelho. Base em plástico preto. Vidros representados em plástico transparente. Detalhes interiores em plástico branco. Rodas em plástico com detalhes "cromados" a simular as jantes. Com suspensão. A escala nominal parece ser à volta de 1:65 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 69 mm. Cerca de 23 g. Este modelo, o Chevrolet, representa o "concept car" Chevrolet Astro I idealizado por Roy Lonberger e revelado pela General Motors no "Salão Internacional do Automóvel de Nova Iorque" de 1967. Estava cosmeticamente equipado com o mesmo motor de 6 cilindros opostos horizontalmente, refrigerado a ar, utilizado pelo Chevrolet Corvair de segunda geração.

Miniatures of human and alien figures constituting the series " Colecção Espacial ". This series of 16 miniatures appears in 1970 associated with the Rajá ice cream brand, which offers a figurine on each ice cream purchased. Monochrome plastic, various colors. Changes In December 2022, both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", definitely reached the end of their path, with, respectively, more than 191,000 and 23,000 views. However, some of the contents published between 2009 and 2016 have been included, updated and with images in a larger standard format, in its successors, " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS ". Both websites, " IT'S ONLY BUSES " and " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", were born at a time when I thought it was possible to maintain a meeting point for each of my research topics – " IT'S ONLY BUSES ", " IT'S ONLY TRAINS ", " MY POLIGURI COLLECTION ", to mention just a few. Obstacles In editorial terms, 2023 was a year without surprises for the " FUTURE MEMORY | TRANSPORTATION " and " FUTURE MEMORY | TOYS & MODELS " websites. But it is increasingly clear that one life is not enough to share my entire photographic collection. Even so, I have a clear conscience that over the last few years I have tried to share as much as possible – despite almost permanent obstacles, especially on the " FM | T ". What requires more time is the research and necessary data verification, sometimes inexplicably made difficult by the sources themselves.
