Majorette – Renault Alpine A110-50

Scale model of an automobile, the Renault Alpine A110-50, made by Majorette. This example is reference 221H, included in the "Racing Cars" series. It is made in Thailand, possibly in 2016. Metal body painted in blue, with a slanted orange stripe on the sides. Rear wing in black plastic, with printed details. Black plastic base. Glazing represented in black translucent plastic, with molded details. Interior details in black plastic. Plastic wheels (5SV), "chrome" rims. No suspension. The nominal scale is 1:63 and the overall length is approximately 2.7 in. About 1.1 oz. This model represents a "concept car", the Renault Alpine A110-50, unveiled by Renault in 2012 at the "Monaco Grand Prix". It is mechanically based on the Renault Sport Mégane Trophy and uses the 3498 cm³ Nissan-Renault VQ35DE V6 engine, with 295 kW (400 hp). 

I fell in love with the Renault Alpine A110 many years ago for its functionality, simplicity – and efficiency. By its noises, by its voice, by its warm smell. They weren't visually stunning cars – but they never went unnoticed. And in my eyes – and in my heart – this "concept car" has little to do with the A110 suffix, it is rather a sensorial exercise on the subject. It is possible that the competent engineers and stylists sought to bring back sensations and update them, but the visceral charisma slipped through their fingers. Perhaps, a few years later, the 2017 A110 got closer to achieving it. That said, the Renault Alpine A110-50 is a beautiful car and Majorette offers us an excellent miniature reproduction. The demanding organic forms are well reproduced, the paint is well applied and the printed details are well defined. Translucent "glasses" are adequate, as are the wheels with a vortex pattern. And even without suspension, it's a competent roller – the kids will be pleased. Between this Majorette model and Bburago's, let the devil come and choose. As for me, I don't wait a second – I keep both. This automobile, the Renault Alpine A110-50, is in my collection under the themes "French  Vehicles", "Concept Cars" and "Race Cars". ●

Carroçaria em metal pintada em azul, com faixas laranja inclinadas nas laterais. Asa traseira em plástico preto, com detalhes impressos. Base em plástico preto. Vidros representados em plástico preto translúcido, com detalhes moldados. Detalhes interiores em plástico preto. Rodas em plástico (5SV), jantes "cromadas". Sem suspensão. A escala nominal é 1:63 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 69 mm. Cerca de 30 g. Este modelo, representa um "concept car", o Renault Alpine A110-50, revelado pela Renault em 2012 no "Monaco Grand Prix". Baseia-se mecanicamente no Renault Sport Mégane Trophy e utiliza o motor Nissan-Renault VQ35DE V6 de 3498 cm³, com 295 kW (400 hp).

Apaixonei-me pelos Renault Alpine A110 há muitos anos, pela sua funcionalidade, simplicidade – e eficiência. Pelos seus ruídos, pela sua voz, pelo seu cheiro quente. Não eram carros visualmente espantosos – mas nunca passavam despercebidos. E aos meus olhos – e coração – este "concept car" pouco tem a ver com o sufixo A110, é antes um exercício sensorial sobre o tema. É possível que os competentes engenheiros e estilistas tenham procurado resgatar sensações e actualizá-las, mas o visceral carisma escapou-se-lhes por entre os dedos. Talvez, uns anos depois, o A110 de 2017 tenha ficado mais perto de o conseguir. Posto isto, o Renault Alpine A110-50 é um belo automóvel e a Majorette oferece-nos uma excelente reprodução em miniatura. As exigentes formas orgânicas são bem reproduzidas, a pintura bem aplicada e os detalhes impressos bem definidos. Os "vidros" translúcidos são adequados, assim como as rodas com o padrão em vórtice. E mesmo sem suspensão, é um rolador competente – os miúdos agradecem. Entre este modelo da Majorette e o da Bburago, que venha o diabo e escolha. Por mim, não espero um segundo – fico com os dois. Este automóvel, o Renault Alpine A110-50, encontra-se na minha colecção sob os temas "Veículos Franceses", "Concept Cars" e "Carros de Corrida". ●
