Matchbox – Mercedes Trailer


Scale model of a trailer, the Mercedes Trailer, made by Matchbox. This example is reference 2, included in the "1–75" series. It is made in England, between 1967 and 1969. Metal cargo bed (incorporating the base) painted in sea green, orange plastic tarp. Plastic wheels. No suspension. Removable tarp. Tow hook. Pivoting front axle. The nominal scale is 1:87 and the overall length is approximately 2.8 in ¹. About 1.4 oz. This model represents a trailer suited to complement the Mercedes Truck. 

This Mercedes Trailer, made by Matchbox, based in Hackney, England, is as its name implies suited to complement the Mercedes Truck. It is a simple but attractive model, well detailed and robust. It comes with a tow hook (of maritime proportions!), allowing us to make an interesting "road train". This trailer, the Mercedes Trailer, is in my collection under the themes "German Vehicles" and "Trailers & Special Equipment". ●

Modelo à escala de um atrelado, o Mercedes Trailer, feito pela Matchbox. Este exemplar é a referência 2, incluída na série "1–75". É feito em Inglaterra, entre 1967 e 1969. Caixa de carga em metal (incorporando a base) pintada em verde-mar, lona em plástico cor-de-laranja. Rodas em plástico. Sem suspensão. Lona amovível. Gancho de reboque. Eixo dianteiro giratório. A escala nominal é 1:87 e o comprimento total é de aproximadamente 70 mm ¹. Cerca de 39 g. Este modelo representa um atrelado adequado para complementar o Mercedes Truck.

Este Mercedes Trailer, feito pela Matchbox, com sede em Hackney, Inglaterra, é como o próprio nome indica adequado para complementar o Mercedes Truck. É um modelo simples, mas atraente, bem detalhado e robusto. Vem com um gancho de reboque (de proporções marítimas!), permitindo-nos fazer um interessante "comboio rodoviário". Este atrelado, o Mercedes Truck, encontra-se na minha colecção sob os temas "Veículos Alemães" e "Atrelados & Equipamentos Especiais". ●

● How does a "real" Mercedes-Benz LP 1620 with tarp coupled to a matching trailer looks and sounds like? Sadly, I didn't find any interesting video on this interesting combination.

Brumm – Bugatti "Brescia"

Scale model of a race car, the Bugatti "Brescia" , made by Brumm . This example is reference r39, included in the "Serie Oro". It is made in Italy. This is an early 1980s example. Metal body painted in light greenish blue. Racing number "7" printed on the radiator grille and applied as a decal to the sides of the hood. Metal base replicating the chassis, also painted light greenish blue. On the chassis, partial reproduction, in gray plastic, of the engine and gearbox. Spare tire mounted at the rear, attached to the fuel tank. Details of the cockpit in black plastic, including the steering wheel and the seats and floor. Dashboard molded in metal. Tires in yellowish white plastic, detailed with thread and shoulder blocks, black plastic spoked rims. No suspension. Zylmex – Mazda GT Police Car

Scale model of a police car, the Mazda GT Police Car   ¹ , made by Zylmex. This example is reference P306  ² , included in the " Dynamights " series. It is made in Hong Kong in the 1970s. Metal body painted in black, with white doors and roof. Paper labels on the doors showing a five-pointed star, and on the boot reading " POLICE ". Metal base, unpainted. Glazing represented in yellow transparent plastic. Red roof light. Interior details in yellow plastic, left-hand drive. Plastic wheels, rims with "chrome" finish. With suspension. Opening doors. The overall length is approximately 2.8 in. About 1.2 oz. This model represents a police car based on the 1970  Mazda Capella coupe. It is made by Zylmex in several versions. In the late 1970s, I find the Zylmex miniatures attractive, in spite of some annoying imperfections – this example is in mint condition, straight out of the box...
