Poliguri – Spot the Difference

As one would expect, Poliguri models feature casting variations. Let’s spot some differences. ● Como seria de esperar, os modelos da Poliguri apresentam variações de moldagem. Descubramos algumas diferenças.

The Mercedes 200 comes at least with two different bases – one with two holes of approximately 4 mm partially exposing the axles, without suspension, and the other with the holes filled, with suspension. I assume the holes would make it easier for kids to lubricate the axles, but it seems to have been an ephemeral idea. ● O Mercedes 200 vem pelo menos com duas bases diferentes – uma com dois orifícios de aproximadamente 4 mm expondo parcialmente os eixos, sem suspensão, e outra com os orifícios preenchidos, com suspensão. Presumo que os orifícios facilitariam aos miúdos a lubrificação dos eixos, mas parece ter sido uma ideia efémera.

On the chassis of the Mercedes 307, the exhaust pipe is sometimes shortened, perhaps due to a fault in the molding process. On such a well-detailed chassis, it's a shame that the fuel tank is omitted. ● No chassis do Mercedes 307, o tubo de escape vem por vezes encurtado, talvez devido a uma falha no processo de moldagem. Num chassis tão bem detalhado, é uma pena a omissão do tanque de combustível.

On some examples of the Mercedes 207, the floor does not cover the front wheels. Also note, different shades of color in the same reference, in this case 703. ● Em alguns exemplares do Mercedes 207, o piso não cobre as rodas da frente. Reparemos também, distintas tonalidades de cor na mesma referência, neste caso a 703.

The Mercedes 207 Minibus and Ambulance come with a base prepared to receive suspension – a possibility that never materialized. Poligui bases are painted in black – with at least one known exception. ● Os Mercedes 207 Minibus e Ambulância vêm com a base preparada para receber suspensão – possibilidade nunca aproveitada. As bases da Poliguri são pintadas de preto – com pelo menos uma excepção conhecida. 

On some examples of the Peugeot 405 Prototype, there is a gap at the rear between the ribbed panel and the lower section, perhaps due to an initial flaw in the molding process. ● Em alguns exemplares do Peugeot 405 Prototype, existe uma abertura à retaguarda entre o painel estriado e a secção inferior, talvez devido a uma falha inicial no processo de moldagem. 

The trailer comes in two versions, one with a "low coupler", presumably destined to both the Mercedes 307 Tow Truck and Mercedes 207 Minibus, and the other, with a "high coupler", presumably destined to the Mercedes Unimog. ● O atrelado vem em duas versões, uma com "engate baixo", presumivelmente destinada tanto ao Mercedes 307 Tow Truck quanto ao Mercedes 207 Minibus, e outra, com "engate alto", supostamente destinada ao Mercedes Unimog. 

For such a small range, a reasonable number of casting variations. And there are still interesting considerations to be made, including on the accessories of the "Guri Kit" range and on the similarities with the productions of Siku and Majorette. I save them, however, for another opportunity. Meanwhile, happy hunting! ● Para uma gama tão pequena, um razoável número de variações de moldagem.
